Step 1 - Create a Service Booking
You must create a service booking for each participant.
Service bookings:
- connect you to your client
- allocate an agreed amount of funding to your service.
This means that you won't find yourself unable to be paid if another service provider inadvertently uses all of the funds.

Expected Outcomes: At the end of this module you will know how to create a service booking for an NDIS participant on the MyPlace portal.
Plan Your Time: Allow about 30 minutes to create your first service booking. Allow 10 minutes for subsequent service bookings
Materials: Have the following available:
- Participant name
- Plan number
- Approved funding amount in dollars

Hints and Tips
- Use the exact plan dates when possible.
- The plan start date can be todays date
- The plan end date must be within a few weeks of the actual plan end date.
- You must have consent from the participant to create a service booking
- Service bookings can be modified, however, there must be a 2-week gap between ending a service booking and creating a new one.
- Service bookings end when a plan is reviewed or adjusted
- Service bookings end when a plan ends on the portal. This may be different to the plan end date.
- Service bookings may be changed (eg funding increased) or cancelled
- Contact the NDIS if you cannot connect to a participant.
